This shows how horribly outdated but still heavy on the cpu the FSX graphics are. Microsoft is 10 years behind.

@tf51d I did not yaw the airplane 90° thats 35° maximum, which is possible in reality (it was just to show you that you're able to do it). It is just impossible to yaw 90° while flying forward during tumbles and in knife-edge-spins you can reach 90° AOA of the fuselage. And yes I compare both simulators without any addons. I think the developers should present the best their simulator "out of the box". If you have an unrealstic pyhsics engine there is no airplane-addon that can fix that.

@AeroflySimDE You are comparing default aircraft, both FDE's are wrong. unless you think yawing 90 degrees on takeoff is realistic. With 3rd party addon aircraft flight models are very good, like A2A Accusim models, or the RealAir SF260, Carenado models, Flight1, PMDG and Level-D for airliners. The point is you may not see it in default models, you need to look at 3rd party Devs that take the time to really do it right.

Hmmm - look at the textures on the wings in the "FSX comparison". FSX is configured at low res' textures and model/terrain detail. - not methinks an unbiased vid!
Want to talk to ATC, land at a major airport, fly over the swiss border - you need FSX,I believe you also fly alone.
Yet focusing on a small area - the scenery and region accurate buildings are delivered beautifully.
So not an "either-or" then.
One thing I will have to do on day one - fix Aerofly's horrible propellor texture!!

@cameronwick wow thats a really amazing video :D haha

@AeroflySimDE Thats a great video! yea man im not trying to flame and you may be totally right. I know there are planes like the pitts (im a super cub fan) that can pull some pretty amazing stunts....but still It just feels more real according to my limited viewing, flying and simming experiences. I will experiment with the two programs...in the meantime check this out its pretty sweet as well /watch?v=0vH2yKfDq5Q

@cameronwick but why is the simulator itself unrealistic, so that I need to set it correctly first? There may be some airplanes that are indeed set up realistic. But I think the physics engine itself is not. My general opinion on fsx is that it is a great training software for instrumental flights. But thats it. The graphics in the aeroflyFS are way better regarding performance and quality. And the physics, well, haven't seen anything more realistic yet...

@cameronwick it would not just fall down onto the rumway. This tumble was done in about 120m with full throttle. These airplanes have a lot of power but the are not able to do a prophang. The AOA is not interesting as long as you enter the maneuver in a normal flight position. After the tumble there are about 100m left, and that is high enough to to a quarter loop!
Great comparison video! FSX is completely unrealistic for advanced aerobatics, but fortunately we have aerofly FS for that! :)

Learn to fly the fsx extra,so you make a video. What happened at 1:26 is impossible..I dont know what you did to your extra do all that, but's far away of a real life flight.
