Thanks for watching! Your planting plans sound great. We can't wait for spring and all the planting we'll be doing!!! I nurse new trees along with a Gator bag that I try to keep filled with water. They let the water slow drip deep into the ground so the tree can build strong roots. Also, I use half soil and half Master Nursery Bumper Crop to help fertilize and nourish the new planting. Prune branches only after they flower. I smear a mud pack on wounds (dirt, dry grass/straw, water). Good luck!
This is so beautiful! I am planning on putting in a "Stellar pink" variety dogwood behind my aviary this spring. Do you have any tips on how to care for it once it is planted? Do you fertilize it? Water it often? Again, it is such a gorgeous tree! thanks for posting :)
I couldn't agree more with you about both the dogwood and butterfly bushes! We have blue, deep purple (Dark Knight), and white butterfly bushes around the yard; the only drawback is that they can be quite invasive, so I keep pulling up new bushes to keep them contained. The dogwoods are the true beauties of spring; we love this one near the house and a white one near the pool. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Happy Memorial Day weekend to you. Best, Jay
The two best plants on earth, to me, are pink dogwoods and butterfly bushes. The dogwoods only bloom in the spring, but the butterfly bushes bloom and provide great fragrance for over half the year! Together they can't be beat! Thanks for posting this clip of your tree.
Thanks for watching! Isn't spring beautiful? We're watching that dogwood right now from the upstairs bedroom window, and it's in full bloom. So breathtaking to look at those blooms head-on from a higher vantage point. Best, Jay
