If you wake up and find a bat in your room - you could have been bitten. And, there are no bite marks, no scratches, nothing. Call animal control, have the bat tested for rabies.

  • Interesting video but Im not sure where to go from here. Should people run to the doctor and get a shot if a bat gets in the house or play the odds?

I would love to know how to prevent the little buggers from getting inside to begin with.

  • @kenmtb Good question - go to the Center for Disease and Prevention site

  • I have OCD and got poked in the shoulder. Now I think it was a rabid bat. Please help my mind. I am so scared about the bat bite if you don't feel it.

  • @ocdperson15 I know about OCD. But, please don't be scared. If you wake up and find a bat in your room, capture the bat and get it tested (google CDC for the safe way to capture a bat). If you can't catch it, see your doctor and tell her/him what happened. The chances of a bat having rabies is very small. I hope this helps.

  • When I was six, there was a bat in my room. We didn't take anything of it and I was fine.

Last year, there was another bat in my room. Again, nothing happened.

I was lucky. But now, after seeing this, I'll be sure to get tested after another bat gets into my room.

  • @Lushikinz Go to the CDC site to get info on how to safely capture a bat and get it tested. Thanks for watching!

  • FACT: You obviously don't know the facts.

So many people have died of dog-inflicted rabies AND bat-inflicted rabies. Just because you haven't, doesn't mean no one else gets bitten.

    I did.

No one hates bats, by the way, just the disease.

  • MOTHERFUCKIN BATS

  • Dogs and fucking RATS. especially the giant rats which attack to the cats.

  • Racoons an foxes an skunks are the biggest carriers.

  • but she didn't mention that bats although are responsible for about 0.5% of America's rabies cases

  • This isn't a video of the bat that was in Zach's room was it?

  • @rabiesaware I certainly am not a fan of bats after seeing the effect on Zach's friends and family. I've seen them flying around my house and hanging off my eaves and in my sheds. Bats never really creeped me out until I've seen what they can do. Granted, not every bat is Rabid, but the chance is still there and I'm not willing to take that chance in going near one.
