  • When I set up the drums and whatnot, I go back to the phrase screen and it's still got the notes, not the two channels for the drum samples. I am running a different version of lsdj though. Mine has a 3x3 grid for the instrument, phrase, song, waveform, etc. Is there any way to get the abbreviations for bass drum, snare and whatnot?

  • @WOAHFOX What version are you running?

  • @LSDJguides 3.4.1 or something like that? Can't quite remember. It's the free version too. I'm just testing it out before I order a real cartridge

  • @WOAHFOX Well I tried the demo and I'm definitely not used to that version. It ran poorly on my emulator and I was having different kinds of problems. My suggestion would be to just buy it. XD Sorry I couldn't solve your problem but it's the best 2 dollars you will ever spend.

  • @LSDJguides Tried the 3.1.9 demo version currently available with an entirely different problem now. I can't seem to scroll through values with A+Direction -- only changes by tapping A... :S It could be an incompatibility with Visual Boy Advance. The 1.3.5b demo version didn't have this issue though -- only the problem with kits. Boy oh boy.

  • @krayjk I had the same issue trying the demo. I'll give you the same advice I gave to WOAHFOX just buy the ROM. It's the best 2 dollars you'll spend.

  • @krayjk

i used BGB emulator with the demo version 3.1.9, and i had the same problems... what i especially found annoying was that you cannot preview notes as you enter them into the phrase mode

  • when I program the drums, theres this irritating buzzing on each one in the demo?

  • @LSDJguides I got the full version, but before then, I downloaded the 1.3.5 version and used an alternate emulator and it worked fine :)

  • @LSDJguides I just might soon enough -- I've been using LSD more frequently. I did fix the scrolling/selection problem. I thought it had to be some sort of timing issue with the program/rom and input...so in Visual Boy Advance, I went to options>emulator and made sure "real time clock" was flagged/ticked. Scrolling values works fine now. One more issue to go -- it's a strange buzzing sound that accompanies all the of kit sample sounds. I've listened to other vidoes and it's not present.

  • @WOAHFOX I just looked a little closer and I've found that in the 1.3.5 demo version -- for some reason, I can't designate certain instrument values to use kits. Instrument 10, like in this tutorial, does not allow for kit sounds. The same goes for instruments 13-16 for some reason. There are others throughout, but it seems random to me. To get kit sounds, rather than notes, I just have to keep changing the instrument number until an acceptable value will let me enter the kit values.

  • @WOAHFOX I have the same problem. There might be issues with the demo version (1.3.5) There are small differences: no menu status selection in bottom right, uses a grid style menu (as you said), no option to listen to notes as they are being selected, and more importantly -- the wav channel phrases shows notes like a regular phrase on the other channels. What's really weird was I somehow got to see BD, SD, CYM, etc yesterday while messing around. I'm not sure what allowed me to.
