  • hey goldphinga! great videos, we needed those!!

i am about to by either a Nord Stage 88 EX or this fantastic Korg... my biggest concern is wich of the pianos does the Rhodes/Wurlitzer sound best, and wich of the piano is the biggest joy to play?

    Cheers!

  • The nord wins on features alone, soundwise they are both great but different flavours, but personally speaking id grab the Nord as you get a lot more for your money..

  • Your playing is awesome... but it makes everything sound good...

How do you feel about this versus the electro 3?

  • Thanks Joel! :O)

  • @goldphinga I like how simple the SV-1 is, I love the Nord products, but I'd rather spend more time playing than tweaking... And often I find myself down the oscillator algorithm rabbit hole instead of practicing =\

  • What are doing @ 1:10 - 1:20 Is it some kind of cycle of 5ths progression?

  • ive been playing 27 years

  • Cant do that im afraid mate, as ive had to give the SV1 back.

  • yeah id recommend it for sure. its strengths are piano and rhodes sounds to my ears, all the other sounds are ok, but korg is promising to add new sounds to the soundset soon so its all good! yes i recommend it in other words!

  • The SV1 pianos are great imo, though i agree with you that in the past Roland, Yamaha and Kurzweil had the edge, now im no so sure!

  • The Rhodes and Acoustic Piano sounds are great in the SV1, as they are in the Electro 3. The only way to get a definitive answer is to try both, but for me personally the Nord wins as it has the very flexible organ onboard plus user sample upload as well though it doesnt have a weighted board. THe SV1 cant compare to the Nord Stage though, the stage can do so much more with its synth/splits/layers/etc

  • I gotta have one of these.

    I've just gotta have it!!!
