I'm glad we have They Shoot Music, Shoot The Player, Blogotheques and so forth. Because if we subscribe to all of these great channels, we'll get lots of variety but still pretty much the same style, and lots and lots of great music - which is what we want, right? Who cares who started, it's a style and styles are meant to be used. I wouldn't mind if people found inspiration in my photos and tried doing something similar.
anyone bashing this for ripping off La Blog is missing the point--regardless of whomever had the idea to do it first (especially considering how many times this guy comments that he actually did it with La Blog's blessing), this is someone bringing us incredible music in a new setting for free, at pretty high quality. Why not just be thankful that we can see this amazing song performed in such a gorgeous manner?
No, that doesn't matter. All that matters is you took a beautiful and original idea and copied it exactly and tried to pass it off as your own. Because you only make a very small reference to the creators of La Blogotheque in the last frame of your video, you can't say that it is an homage. Maybe if you started off the video you could make a different argument, but what you're doing right now is perfectly replicating someone else's idea and then barely making note of it.
Well, we're sorry you feel that way - our intention wasn't ever to upset people. We specifically asked the Blogotheque founders before we started our project, and they were excited for us to do what we're doing. Our intention was always to celebrate their work at the same time as we found our own expression of it. In the end, what we all want is to show musicians and landscapes in a different and exciting way, and bring that to audiences.
