  • @ColorMeEnvious No, this is one of an original 4 who were shipped to me for treatment of RI. They all recovered and lived several more years, but died in the last 2 years.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas Thanks, I actually saw this site yesterday. Im going to order 500 on Tuesday from this site.

  • @buitrami you can find my email on the rescue website.

  • @buitrami No, they will not survive without harvester ants. You can read about that on my website at wichitafallsreptilerescue.webs.com/harvesterants.htm

I am a wildlife rehabilitator specializing in horned lizards and other reptiles. I study these lizard and have 25 years reptile keeping experience. I wrote a manual on horned lizards used by zoos. They need the ants, and not just any ant. Best thing to do is email me several GOOD photos of the lizards for positive species and gender ID.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas Thats a good question. I have no idea what species they are but they are extremely thorny. 2 are all tan and 1 of them is gray and black I got them from a seller in Perris California. I have been feeding them crickets and i plan on buying some ants online Tuesday. Will they not survive without harvester ants? How and where do i keep the ants when they come?

  • @buitrami Like the caption says, it is a P. platyrhinos. They are native to CA. as well as other places, and this is rare. What "California horned lizards" do you have? Do you know the species? Are you feeding them harvester ants?
