Nick Josh Karean, a Fellow of the Malaysiakini - ICFJ citizen journalism workshop looks into the methods used by the Kuala Lumpur city council (DBKL) in the rounding up of stray cats and dogs.

A TV3 360 episode had revealed the inhumane and cruel treatment of these animals and caused a public uproar.

On February 7th, concerned citizens gathered at the city council pound where animals are sent, killed and the carcasses dumped into shallow mass graves nearby. They expressed their outrage at the methods and demanded that the city council put a stop to the abuse of animals.

Why do they have to kill the animals?! they can just care for them untill they get adopted. there is no reason to kill god's animals. it's just so stupid! there so freaking heartless. it's so sad. What if you didn't have a home? And then they will have to kill you a month later? NO! it's stupid! It's Wrong! Humanity? what's that? THere used to be a time when it existed, not now. Animals have shown us so many times that they are way more compasive than humans. They don't make any differences between species and they are capable of giving their lives to save their owner. How many humans can say the same?

I still wonder what the hell make humans think that we have supreme power over animals? we just decide when they are too many and decide to exterminate them no matter how. Why don't we think that we are already too many humans and start killing ourselves? it's crazy, right? so why does it have to be different with animals? Can't we just share the world we live in? we could at least let them live in peace, for Christ's sake!

Perhaps by understanding your own religion better, you'd live a life worthy of being called a muslim.

Do a search on the internet to know more of islam and dogs and separate oral tradition/culture from Quranic verses!
