Inspired by the Flash Mob Phenomenon spreading over the globe. The Common People Dance Project throws it out to the people of Brisbane to create an on mass surprise dance performance as part of Brisbane Festival 09.
This is a chance for you to get out in the street and strut your stuff alongside friends and strangers. Be part of Brisbanes hottest new dance group made up of people just like you. Calling all movers and shakers, shapes and sizes and all walks of life to create Brisbanes largest public dance performance since the 1982 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
Step out of your comfort zone and step into your comfy sneakers and take part in this 5 week project starting the last week of August with a no stress, no pressure and easy to learn rehearsal period leading up to the surprise performance on September 19. Stick it in your I Phone, write it in your diary, set your alarm clock, cos come Saturday the 19th, sometime after 7pm, you will be busting some serious moves on an unsuspecting audience.
From the heel and toe polka to hip-hop this dance routine will have you giggling with excitement and earning some serious street cred.
