The rare and beautiful 'Soft Parachutes' from the sadly deleted film 'One Trick Pony,' written and directed by Paul Simon.

I was going to upload the whole deleted film, but had a pang of conscience that it might infringe copyright, even though it's out of circulation and many fans haven't had chance to see it :-( So I hope what is (imho) the best song in the film will be of some comfort to those of you who haven't had chance to see the film! Tx

I do really like the movie, however flawed it is.

  • In Italy the movie used to be shown late night now and then years ago. I never caught it, and now since years it's not to be seen anymore.

  • Why did he leave this song out of the original One Trick Pony album? Did he think it wasn't good enough? I can't make it out.

  • Just finished watching this movie again. It's been years since I've seen it. Such a shame this song was left off the album. I love it!

  • Now where is that vinyl album ... are her it is , thanks

  • As the film was less than well-received critically, this song (as I recall) was also dismissed by music critics as being insipid or puerile. 'Tis a shame, because I always found it to be extremely powerful and affecting.

  • It's arguably the best song in the movie, but was the only song in the movie not on the soundtrack album! I still play it on guitar from time to time. The other songs were mostly forgettable. Would love to see the film again someday.

  • I am a huge Paul Simon fan and i wonder, with the film deleted and all, do you know if there is any other way to see the movie?
