Well, the word sin means to 'miss the mark' or to fall short of the glory of God. I think the word mistake might be used in the bible though... that would make a good word study.
Never considered this, but yea - "mistake" sounds like something wasn't our fault, like we were powerless to it. Perhaps prior to salvation, this is true. But now we are empowered by Christ to turn from sin.
Now the window thing was indeed a "mistake." Though if you don't get it cleaned, in a few days...it will stink like SIN.
(This is why I allow no one in our family van without seeing their immunization records - call me paranoid, it's a liability issue. I'm not covered for PLAGUES.)
