@TunedPortZ28 While I agree with you that forced 2V Modulars produce amazing numbers, a NA 2V Modular can and did produce 400+hp with 11:1-11.5:1 compression ratio, which you can run on 91 Octane if you tune it carefully, I've read 2 articles on (5.0 Mustang&super fords) in which they built two 2Vs, the first one was stroked but used a smaller cam, it put 375hp and 385lbs torque!! the 2nd did 399hp with 9.0:1 compression and stock 4.6L size! with 18psi(JT-Trim) it cranked out 800hp, 610lbs!!
Im jumping in this conversation as a 2V owner... I did mine, 98 GT PI swap, with typhoon intake, elbow, tb, MAF, JBA headers, Bassani X, Mac Cat back, 3.73's, SCT tuner, blah blah blah.. It was quick and fun but unless your going full race, NA 2V's are a joke. Forced Induction is the only way to crank out HP on small cubes and remain street friendly. Thats just the truth.. ask any SN95 message board. They'll all point to a supercharger etc.
@Turbo05gt Turbo05gt is an expert on EVERYTHING. Better listen to him. Make sure to ask how having 4 extra cylinders affected his micro-penis. Oh wait, it didn't.
Bharsen- you sir can't drive then lmfao. I have seen a real driver grab a 14 flat with a stock gt maybe cat back. They can easily hit a low 13 high 12 with the right bolt ons and a good tune. Shit my 3v puts down 300/320 on a 100* day! with a full exhaust, cai, 3.55, and a tune. And the headers and cai are generic parts for cheap! You can get 300rwhp out of a 2v with h/c/I, full exhaust, aluminum drive shaft, but it is almost a new engine excluding the block.
@bharsen I hate my 2V, Everything costs so much money and you hardly get anything out of them. The only way they can make power is with forced induction.
For everyone talking about horsepower on a 2V... 400WHP this, 400WHP that... you will be hard pressed to even see 300WHP N/A... FACT, these heads were designed poorly and as a result even porting them or otherwise putting aftermarket ones on will net net very amazing gains. a GOOD custom ground cam done properly by a dyno shop with full bolt on's will net these 2V's around 280WHP. full N/A bolt on's? I'd say 300WHP is a good baseline when done properly. which is not impressive, not in the least.
