@Stormy62485 No the state you got the tattoo in has nothing to do when blood centers are reviewing health histories. It has to do with whether you got the tattoo or piercing in a sterile environment such as a doctor's office. If not there is a one year deferral. This is how all states operate.

Tattoo restrictions have become more lenient. Now it depends on what state you got the tattoo in that decides whether you're deferred for a year or not. And livingdeadgrl's advice is the COMPLETE WRONG thing to do! If you need a cheap way to test for diseases, go to your local health department office, and they would be more than glad to test you. DO NOT EVER knowingly or potentially knowingly put the blood supply at risk! That's murder!

all should do this, if u cant afford to go to doctors and pay 100's if not 1000's this is kinda of a poor mans cheap check-up, even if they tell so little about ur blood system, i know it gives me a little peice of mind
