... no it doesn't... the button is a switch. it doesn't just have current running through it to power the pickups on the guitar. And that's not how the string works. That guy said rubbing aluminum foil on the metal strings would generate current. It does not. You have NO idea what you're talking about.

And once again:
The XBox controller outputs a low level electricity for hit detection on each button. By connecting the strings to the controller, you put a very small amount of electricity into the strings. When you strum, the tin foil on the pick goes to the button that signifies strumming, and the button that you are strumming, thus creating the hit test required.
