It was amazing! Authentic vintage subway car of NYC from 1931. Imagine riding on a train, complete with ceiling fans (no A/Cs back then and each of the vintage banner advertisement posters. Each unique in its own way, some very witty and some quintessential of that period. It was a total bonus to have Baby Soda Jazz Band entertain us with their amazing New Orleans-style swingy jazz repertoire. There was absolutely no room to dance, but we made it happen. Where is Heidi & Joe to show off some amazing balboa???? At some point the train was whizzing by....quite challenging to dance but it was incredibly fun and I wish we could do this every day!

I remember riding in subway cars that were EXACTLY like that when I was a little girl in NYC. There were still quite a few like that in service then. Woven caned seats, big ceiling fans, white enameled hand grasps, white enameled poles, 'marbled' linoleum floors.... very beautiful old sense of design.
I remember the giant heavy wooden turnstiles too, for putting your tokens. And I'm only 56! :D
