weird how this hasn't been uploaded yet. Well, this is Def Leppard's Overture song, last track from their kickass debut album On Through The Night.

Along with pictures of the band's history from 1978-1982.

Enjoy.

  • Def Leppard also did not have much say on how that first album came out, it was mostly Allom's say....Also, I have to disagree with you on those two albums sounding similar, but we are all entitled to our own opinion.

  • Well, it's your opinion that both albums don't share a similar sound style. It's pretty obvious that they sound alike. There's alot of punk on both, and harmony.

I think you just don't want to see them paired up with bands like Black Sabbath. "Heavy metal" isn't always about leather and studded belts, but their (Def) first album riffs like it's 100% metal indeed.

Thank God that Allom (Judas Priest) produced it, it proves furthermore they WERE metal, just never really too interested in it.

  • That first pic was the best line-up.

  • Tell me something I don't know!

  • glossed out shit? fuk off watch classic albums hysteria, they worked so hard to do that stuff it wasnt sell out it was something they were always working on, something they always planned to do wethere they got famous or not

  • It's good to hear I'm not alone on this. I like the shots of Pete. Good Job

  • It's interesting to see the de-evolution of DL over time. From pioneers in the NWOBHM to whatever the hell they do now. Consider that Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Venom, et al all came from basically the same place. Venom (always harder and more theatrical) stayed true to form, Maiden more or less became a caricature of themselves, and DL went from tunes like this to "Make Love Like A Man".

  • I recall reports that Joe Elliot does not like the first album. When they got Mutt Lange is when they got their path set. I am glad they recorded and released this stuff before he got that way! I like it all. Maybe it all got tainted because guitarist Pete Willis was not handling himself and the "excesses" on the road. When they snagged Phil Collen (from glam "Girl") that changed everything. Reminds me of Metallica's first years with Dave Mustaine...

  • I wonder if there is any footage out there of them playing this live....
