Digital rights management ARACHNOID

DSOGaming writes: "Okay everyone, I have a confesion to make; I simply love Croteam. It's not the extra and juicy details that the Croatian developer has added to the game. No no no, it's the introduction of an immortal speedy arachnoid enemy -- due to its anti-piracy protection system -- that is the icing on the cake."

They are providing goods and/or services: in this case, an entertaining video game.

You are not paying them for said goods or services.

Want to see if your argument holds up in court? Yeah, didn't think so.

Because the money for the goods has already been given to the company. Right of first sale.

By giving the disc to a friend, you can't play it anymore, but your friend can.

Also, you confessed to a crime. Call the police and turn yourself in.

I'm pretty sure there isn't enough jobs for everyone and the jobs that are available are being replaced my automation or something.

"minimum wage job"...uh.. these guys can pirate all they want for all i care. They earn virtually nothing.

"Don't expect it to just come to you easily."...i have a job and i don't usually pirate (i only pirate anime)

A whole team doesn't necessarily allow things to be easier. It just allows video games to be a lot more complex as more work can go into it.

You're right. They aren't doing it for free. They are selling a product that you are too cheap to buy yourself so you decide pirate. That the equivalent of flipping them off because you feel entitled to play their games without respecting them. Also, if felt like you would have never play it if money was a factor, why bother playing it at all?

Someone's always going to be hiring somewhere close to you. Be it a high paying job or a minimum wage job. You are the one who needs to set out and get that job. Don't expect it to just come to you easily.

There isn't always a job available. This should be very obvious.

Anyway, to make this conversation short. You're ignorant.

I'm not flipping anyone off. There is a whole team of people that work on games it's not just one guy. Doing something you enjoy is a hell of alot better than working in a factory or machine shop like a lot of people have to.

And they still make plenty of money so its not like they are doing it for free. Like I said, I pirate games I wouldn't buy anyway, so they don't lose anything by me pirating their game. It cost them the same if I pirate it or just simply don't buy it and never play it.

Have you ever designed a game? A lot of work goes into it. Try designing your own game. Spend the shit load of time it takes to design it. Spend years educating yourself on how to go about designing it. Actually create something instead of saying "As a creator I would do this". You are not a creator, you have no idea how hard it is to actually create a video game. Stop assuming designing a game is easy and think it's okay to give the finger to the ones who actually do design them.

If you don't have a job but you spend your time playing video games than the problem is you. If you have enough time to play a video game, you have enough time search for a damn job.

    Someone's angry.

Can't find a job? Make one.

    If you're unemployed, it's because you're lazy.

I play video games because I save up for them. I ask no one to help me pay for them.

This is America. Get a job. Pull your own weight. Find a less expensive hobby if you can't afford video games.
