  • why is it revving so high? and why in neutral?

  • Max rpm is only 2400, it just sounds fast because it is a Detroit. The fast rev in neutral was to build air pressure because I was in a hurry.

  • how do you post vids did u use a digidal camera? would like to put some vids up

    have a 79' ford l9000 with the 6-71 is urs a 10 or 13 speed?

  • yes it was taken with a digital camera. This truck is a 10 speed.

  • I think its str8 pipe! lol nice

  • No it has a muffler on it. Broke the flexpipe on the downpipe one day and it ran open. Sounded great but I had to fix it sadly.

  • Instant hard on. Thanks for the video.

  • damn it sounds like ur revvin the piss outta that thing

  • @SeaDollarsBertram I can belive that all this crap on clean air diesels is a joke There is no such thing as a clean diesel They can make them cleaner but they are ruining them They have this new additive called urea that injected into a burn chamber with the exshust. Its bien used in europe for years and now the epa is forcing it down on us Just another thing to fail and add cost to trucking which hurts us the consumer who reliey on trucks everyday I see alot of clean air trucks that still smoke

  • @rocintrucker83021227 about the smoke, I heard a while back that a brand new MAN or MTU will smoke more than an old 8V92, according to a friend at the yacht basin

  • We hadda 1964 WFTL with 671

  • @8010cookie Actually it's a wonderful sound, detroits last longer when you run them hard. Much the opposite of many 4 cycle diesels

  • Yea these moters were once very popular and still are. The only reson that there not in production anymore is the epa. The emissions are bad and most smoke like crazy. I suprised you never saw one in Canada. You will find them in anything from pre 90s semi trucks of all sizes to generators, pumps constructon equipment and on and on. Detriot still makes moters but they are all 4 stroke and epa compliant. They were made by g.m so alot of vids of GMC semi are on here so just type in 6-92 6-71 enjoy
