i use an old winter coat for safety precautions(it's thick enough to prevent claws from breaking skin.

I feel so sorry for cats that get baths. I guess I understand they need it sometimes if they're REALLY dirty, but their reaction is horrible. I don't understand why people find this humorous either. Obviously the cat is in distress and is scared out of it's mind. As someone else mentioned though, shampoo not made for pets can be very irritating to their skin, so keep that in mind. ;) Your cat is adorable! He looks just like mine.

He wasn't really scared, just being defiant. He is the toughest, bravest cat I've ever had, and the fact is, he smelled like he'd rolled around in carpet cleaner, and I wanted to get it all off. The water was only deep enough to make it easier for me to quickly rinse his very short fur.
