  • he's got a point. imagine the backlash if a team was called the New York Niggers

  • An intelligent Native American, who knows their histoy, would not take pride in the name Redskin. Maybe the team and the game, but not the name.

Ignorant and/or uneducated Native Americans might still like the name.

  • what an oversensitive left-wing cocksucking bald headed faggot

  • Will never get changed . NFL is too big

"Redskins" is a derogatory term. What would you say if they were called the Negros or black skins?

  • That may have been it's origin, but 1 look at the logos & the mascot are evidence enough that the name does in fact represent Native American culture today, unless you're going to try & tell me that these sunburn victims also enjoyed wearing feathers in their hair while skiing in Vermont.

However, I'd agree with you that the team name though clearly chosen in ignorance was not intended to dishonor Native Americans. Consequently, there are plenty of quotes about good... intentions.

  • @georgewashingotn i gotya the important thing is the ppl of DC like it so id leave it at that

  • @Joefonzgoldenarms

That's the point, you can't name teams after a large group of people even if it was to pay tribute to those people. I was merely pointing how ludicrous this video is in saying that the team name Redskins is racists.

  • @georgewashingotn whats wrong with steelers steel workers are the pride of pittsburgh

  • One more thing Redskins doesn't even represent native Americans. The team was actually named after the inaugural team of which a majority of the players had really bad sunburns the entire year. The sunburns originated from their shirtless training camp and were made worse during a team field trip where the entire team went skiing in Vermont. To this day the 32 Redskins have been the only team to forfeit a game due to their plethora of severe sunburns. Plaschke learn the facts before you speak.

  • Well while were are at it we should just rid of the Cowboys, Patriots, Chiefs, Raiders, Steelers, Texans, 49ers, Packers, Vikings, Bucs, and Saints. All of these teams just as the Redskins do represent large group of people that the team is honoring by naming the team after the sect of these groups. Native Americans and others calling for a name change need to get over it. After all it is only football and there is no place for politics. If you cant accept you should just quit watching the NFL.

  • like plasckes fat ass cares about the native americans
