BYU Class of 1971 40-yr reunion Memories video

This is a "memories" video produced for the 40-Year reunion of the Brigham Young University Classes of 1970-71-72 held on the BYU campus at Homecoming, Oct. 7, 2011. It includes assembled out-takes from the 1971 BYU campus newsreels called "The Y Scene". There were 4-5 editions of the newsreels produced in the spring of 1971. They were sponsored by the BYU Student Body Culture Office, headed by Russ Wood (who also is the narrator for this video). The newsreels were produced by Robert Starling, Dean Stubbs, Duane "Dewey" Pratt, and Mike Helmantoler. The success of the newsreels led to the first student film being shot at BYU for class credit, a 28-minute campus romance called "Ice Cream and Elevators" which is also on YouTube.
