This is the deployment of our tidal turbine in the Sound of Islay at slack water, a misnomer if ever there was one. As you can sea the turbine is still turning therefore the water is not stationary for long. Since it is very difficult and challenging to keep a vessel on station in a tidal stream, you need slack water to deploy, recover and service tidal turbines, the challenge here is to develop technology that can be rapidly deployed and recovered i.e. typically in less than 30 minutes. Glad to report we can deploy in less than 10 minutes and recover in 6 minutes.
