I also own a Garretts Ace 250 & you are right its user friendly BUT on my 505 I can fine tune the junk/chatter I don't want to hear. With the 505 I can detect next to the steel swing set at a playground & not hear the chatter. Both units have their Pro's & Con's. I bought both units new, the 505 for $99 & the Ace 250 for $249..
