It was National Signing Day last Wednesday at Osseo High School. Four of the schools top athletes signed their National letters of intent in front of family, friends and coaches.
The athletes are Sam Dower, heading to Gonzaga to play basketball; Kevin Kray, who will play baseball for the U of M; Lindsey Sathre, who will play volleyball for Michigan Tech; and Kylie Gottsman, heading to Upper Iowa to play basketball.
Dower, a 6 foot 9 power forward for the Osseo basketball team, is going to Gonzaga University. He is a three-year letter winner, was all-conference last season as he averaged over 13 points and 8 rebounds a game. He has helped Osseo to a 53-7 record over the past two years and two straight conference championships.
Kray was recruited and signed by University of Minnesota as a pitcher. In the 2008 spring season, he had a 5-1 record, a .23 ERA and 63 strikeouts. He also hit .407, belted two home runs, drove in 18 runs as the leadoff hitter and had 12 stolen bases.
Lindsey is a three-year varsity starter who led the team in kills and blocks this fall. Even though she is only 5-10, Sathre was one of the top blockers in the state and led Osseo to the state tournament. An honor roll student, she has earned a full ride to Michigan Tech University.
Gottsman, who signed with Upper Iowa University, is a third-year varsity player. A dominant post with good feet and a good touch within the 15-foot range, she was a member of the Osseo team that went to state in the past two seasons.
