@kubrick681 Right on, brother! Back then WRIF might play a Beach Boys song like Don't Worry Baby right after a song by Led Zeppelin or the Who. In those days it was all good rock and roll.

@wolfsblood07 I remember that

Oh what a pretty name!!! teehee

The BIG 8 CKLW, don't remember hearing The Who on that Windsor station. I do remember Arther Penhollow on WRIF FM Detroit. 1971 was my transition from AM to FM. What an impact for the music industry and the listeners!

Roger Daltrey can hold me close and feed me!!

@cutis1000 i think it would work well at a small gig, but not a large one like this

@urah2525 I was listening to 101.1 WRIF in Detroit back in the day, which played all the great bands of the 60s, 70s and 80s including The Who, Ted Nugent, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, etc. When I first started listening they still played the Beach Boys and the Beatles, this was around 1980-81.

@wolfsblood07 CKLW?

Was this the SCHLITZ Tour?

Ted Nugent compared to The Who? Phhhhht! Nugent is a nut-ball hack who had one hit, the inane "Cat Scratch Fever". How could anyone even mention him in same breath as Townshend?

@whobeatle Ted Nugent is a nobody. In twenty years, no one will even know his name. Pete Townshend is a genius. They should never be uttered in the same context.

Man in a Purple Dress is a fantastic song. It has real meaning behind it. Their newest album is actually very good, although without Keith and John they don't have the manic energy that made them so great in the past.
