The whole idea that Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden because they dared seek knowledge tells us everything we need to know about the founders of religion and its true purpose.

I miss Carl, if only we had his insight today, he was such a light on this world

Nice being negative totally helps towards Sagan's cause. Are you that surprised religious people naturally function that way? Btw retard, "retard" is a really subjectively vague term, most religious people I happen to be friends with are actually really open-minded and obvious know the difference from "belief" and "knowledge" don't let fundamentalists ruin your perception especially that ironically in ancient times, theologians and scholars founded education.

And by the way, we DO have a purpose: we're here to rock 'n roll all night, party every day, and have nothin' but a good time. In other words, we're here to enjoy being here. The ignorant can't do that either, because they lack true understanding of what it is to live.

Ignorance is only bliss for the weak. While knowledge can be a heavy burden to carry at times, it's better to find the strength to carry that burden than to throw it off and remain weak and ignorant. While it can be hard to know what I know, I can also be sure that my knowledge is impenetrable armor; I can take ANYTHING this world can dish out, and I can do it with a grin and a few scathing remarks. The weak and ignorant cannot.

I just can't believe i shed a tear or two just listening to Carl's reasons. If one doesn't understand all the simplistic yet so obvious ideas of his statements, one surely is lost in the ocean of tradition. Knowledge is our only consolation in this cosmic chaos.

Knowledge doesn't have any judgement intrinsically attached to it. It is your judgement of the knowledge you acquire that causes your sadness.

really, knowledge brings sadness in my experience. Some anyway. Like knowing we have no "purpose", that there is no point to life. That those murdered or harmed have no peace to look forward too... knowledge has given us nothing but fear and doubt.

Ignorance truly is bliss. Perhaps that is the meaning behind the eden story.

I am almost certain that only religious retards dislike Carl Sagan videos. Retards and Trolls. Carl Sagan stands for education, what fucking moron doesn't like education? Ah, Religious retards are usually the less educated. And, do you happen to be one of those religious retards? Do you, you retard?
