@serbija89634 Safin injured his knee early during the clay court season and played on through until the end of Wimbledon consistently, under pain killers, in a lot of pain and unable to move properly. This because aggravated the injury and made it much worse than it was and essentially ended his top flight career.
He played a handful of very good matches after the Australian Open, whilst injured but he shouldn't have played any at all.

@SoooBlue yeah , Safin had a good beginning of 2005 , but what happened after the Monte Carlo that year ?
I think the only good match he played after April that year was against Robredo at the french . I heard that he was injured at Wimbledon when he lost to Lopez .

@serbija89634 Yes, well, he was already too fat and barely playing any matches by this point, despite only being 24. He doesn't play tennis now, professionally.
