Really? Are u his grand daughter? In my opinion, Sir Ernest Shackleton is one of the greatest men ever born. I also own several books (including Roland Huntford's Shackleton) and several DVDs on his Antarctica journeis.

Shackelton's boys were some tough mothers. What a great, epic story. If you get a chance, read one of the several books about it.

I have read Shackleton's book about the expedition entitled "South". If you haven't read it , you should. I was disappointed that they couldn't land and videotape the island more completely. However, I know from the book it took four rescue voyages before the ships got through the ice and got the survivors off. It's a pretty inaccessible place.
