It's not just A flag. It's OUR flag. This flag represents America. If you have no love or respect for our flag, then you have no love or respect for your country. We have not lost anything to Bush. You give the man too much credit. Are you telling me that what he has done in the past 8 years has undone everything good America has done in its past 200 years?

What it stands for is worth more than the flag itself, which we've lost recently in the bigotry and hatred our country has come accustomed to under the Bush administration.

I may not care about the flag, but I do care about freedom. If we didn't have a flag today, would we have no freedom? Or if the design was different, would we have less freedom?
And idea can exist without a symbol, but a symbol is just a symbol, it doesn't do anything.

It's what that piece of cloth represents represents that gives it value. It represents freedom from Tyranny and the Republic. This piece of cloth was flown when we where still fighting the Revolutionary War and every war after that to defend this country and you are to me it has no value? Do you have anything other than money, gold, or silver that you consider valuable to you? If so, then why? Why is it of any value? It is just an inatimate object.
