Ep. 2 "Secret Presidential Codes" December 9, 2010
The team investigates the secret presidential codes of Thomas Jefferson and how
they may be partially responsible for the death of one of the world's greatest
explorers, Meriwether Lewis, of Lewis and Clark fame. Meltzer discovers that
although the Lewis family has been working for 15 years to exhume his body, the
National Parks is preventing the exhumation. This episode attempts to answer why
the federal government would want to keep the body buried against the family's
wishes and what really happened to the man who more than 200 years after his
death remains our most iconic explorer.

  • check 32:38

  • The creepy sound underlines your lies and pseudo-intellectual sensationalism! You need more Shake cam, you need more sound effects and you need more depth of focus (including shake and zoom). WHAT A BS!

  • @museluvr Add to that the verification that the letter sent to Jefferson is false.. wow.. I hope the USPS allows the grave to be opened up to settle this once and for all. The truth needs to be seen.

  • Trademark saying for the show, eminem33120. This is a show leaving doubt as to how history paints Lewis. Seems someone smeared Lewis' reputation after murdering him, then tagging it a 'suicide' to dishonor him. The gun and 2 shots are questionable. Add multiple stories from the one witness - loses credibility. Once a story starts shifting, there's potential lies being told. I'm thinking the USPS refuses to allow the body dug up, as history could change.

  • what if i told you that in every single decoded brad meltzer ALWAYS starts with brad saying "what if i told you" and what if i told you i find that a little annoying

  • @anomalee11 That's why they have an advance bar...and c'mon, you don't find her even a tad cute? I'm thinking she's got the makings of a "naughty librarian"
