  • this is awesome

  • @achatzb He provides a pretty clear answer if you ask me:

"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope" Romans 5:3-4 (ESV)

He allows us to suffer in order to shape us into the people/believers we need to be. We go through real hardships to become stronger people, strong people who learn to rely on him.

  • @TheIDCLeader Like King Hezekiah for example (a story in the book of Isaiah): he prayed for 15 extra years and in that time sired Manasseh who became a wicked King. Had he died when YHWH originally intended, he could've spared Judah of the wickedness and himself the agony of seeing his son live the way he did. Significant in that Hezekiah was a godly man and his son Manasseh decided not to be.

  • @TheIDCLeader This may sound cold-hearted, but maybe it's not YHWH's will for her to live a long life. If that's how she's phrasing her prayer, maybe his idea of "helping" her is by letting her die/preventing further misery—and not necessarily misery stemming from her disease.

  • My mother is dying a slow, painful death from MS. She prays to god every day asking to help her. You know what "god" does? Nothing. After all, he made mankind in his image, after we made him.

  • try telling this horseshit to someone in japan.

  • aww. I was hoping for actual evidence. This guy looks at a rock and assumes Jesus.

  • This guy is full of shit.

  • @kamaujackson811 Yeah, even though theology is a bunch of bullshit in and of itself, at least a TRUE theologian would make a lot more sense and have evidence to back up his words and beliefs. This guy needs a fucking education.

  • Anything 'good' in his life (even coincidentally) he's considering as a 'graceful act of God' which is totally bullshit. Keep lying to yourself - giving the gratitude to the 'higher being' that doesn't even exist. The word 'evidence' is used in a FALSE way here. Christians like to use words like 'Theory' or 'Evidence' without adhering to the strict measures these words evoke and the duties required to use those words (investigation, logical approach, undeniable proof, etc.)
