Enjoy a schmaltzy dirge by thereminist Thomas Grillo.

This is an original composition of both melody and accompaniment. I performed the melody on theremin, and the accompaniment was produced on a Kurzweil Midiboard connected to several sample playback modules, each with it's on different sounding string section for the orchestral effect. I also added some crash cymbol, and bass drum hits from my drum kit. I thought that since I don't use much emotional expression on my face while playing the theremin, this might be the perfect piece for me. :)

The theremin in this video is the Burns B3 Pro theremin. It's available at:

  • @MrGlenncom Thank you. :)

  • I think I'm falling in love with this instrument haha, it can be so beautiful at times and so haunting at others, brilliant playing too :)

  • @paulhab12 Thank you. The Burns theremins are great starter theremins for the price.

I like the Pros because they have a mute switch and a mode led to let me know if it's muted or not. The wood grain of the Pros are also very nice. ;)

  • @paulhab12 Thank you. I'm sure that if you can find the right size speaker with the correct impedance, wattage, and voltage, as well as magnet type, you should be able to refurm the speaker. Sometimes you don't have to replace a speaker, just have it re-coned.
