  • Why is this guy doing Expert Village videos? A thrower can move his feet side to side as long as he keeps one foot on or over the 3-foot area. If the defender touches the ball it is a player technical...he doesn't have to take the ball away. If the defender touches the thrower, it is an intentional personal foul. There are no warnings if there is contact with the ball or thrower. The delay of game warning is only given if the defender breaks the throw-in plane but doesn't touch anything.

  • they can move sideways . (fiba rules) you can take 1 big step to your left OR right. and even turn back to your original position

  • lol thats not an imaginary line. i can see it

  • Once again, this guy does not cite the rules properly or even close.

  • Me and chanmancut are correct. Page 56 & 57 of the NFHS basketball rulebook rule 9-2-10 and penalties for article 10 specifies contacting the thrower is an intentional personal NO WARNING (penalties article 10 #4, p. 57).

  • actually read your post wrong, yea if you make incidental contact with the person thats a warning, I thought you meant the basketball.

  • Still waiting for the reference to the boundary plane-infracting foul warning. I have my rulebooks right here by my computer so I can look it up and verify it once you provide me with the reference. I haven't bothered looking for it because I know it's not in there; I'm just curious to see what you're going to be able to find in your search. If you're right and I'm wrong I will admit it and administer it that way in my games from this point forward. Let me know what you find and good luck:)

  • First of all, I just began my 6th season as a high school basketball official. Second, you started in with the sarcastic comments about me by asking how I got a rule book and thus showing your non-support of officials. So play by your own rules.

I'm sorry I have to spell this out to you, but you don't seem too bright so I guess I have to-- "47split" is the username of the person that commented below my 1st post, not a page in the rulebook-DUMBASS

  • So....a simple "you're right" would have sufficed. Isn't what you're describing exactly what I said?

  • Very evident that I'm not a referee huh....you give a warning if a defender reaches through the boundary plane and contacts the inbounder? Where in the hell did you come up with that one? I'm a member of the NFHS, and as 47split explains in his response, I was exactly right in my ruling on the situation. If you can find in the NFHS books where you WARN a player who contacts a thrower first before you call him for an intentional foul I would love for you to give the reference. Dumbass
