As a collector i still struggle to find, all riot city releases, some are common like Vice squads releases, Some Scarce Like Ulltra Violent's 7", Sex aids 7". Varukers 12", And One RARE Undead's LP,.the only release i don't have yet.
This is a nice interview. He seems quite modest which is very endearing. Nice to know what the deal with Riot City & EMI was too. Crass were a little too presumtuous I guess.
Love to see a follow up with some on tour acedotes. Bet there's some nice stories to be had!
I was 15 in 1981 and was following Vice Squad, Chron Gen, Defects, ANWL, and many other punk bands at the time. I remember Chron Gen having a track on a Secret records 12" about Vice Squad signing to a major label, very no- no at the time for punk bands. I still listen to all the records still. Found this story very interesting. Seeing the ANWL So What tour to me was like seeing the Pistols Anarchy tour in 76. Thanx for sharing the story. Cheers, Jim.
