this is unfair, unrealistic, not scientific.... or maybe just out dated? NASA and the IAU have stated Pluto is in yet another Class of Planets. (Science Evolves.) They are officially called Dwarf Planets. To say Pluto is no longer a planet is simply wrong.

@hsuehhs1 The people should have said, "we knew". cuz Eratosthenes already proved the Earth was round 2,300 years before Columbus was born.Columbus was a fucking idiot, & so were his followers. But, whether or not people think of pluto as a planet or not, doesn't really matter. the reclassification is just a stepping stone to studying the edge of the solar system. The solar system formed w/different elements to it. The objects are classified to the environment & they're physical make-up

@Ishcoa Funny thing is, if Ceres (the 600 mile wide asteroid that's a perfect sphere, in the asteroid belt), gets any bigger and vacuums up the remaining asteroids in the belt, it will be bigger than Pluto. It probably won't happen, at least for a few billion years due to the distance of objects in the outer solar system. This, actually would qualify it as a planet. Maybe a dwarf planet, but definitely bigger than Pluto. Pluto is a super-comet. Period

Oh for Pete's sakes, Pluto shouldn't be a planet! There are hundreds of tiny little objects around it that are almost exactly the same, and unlike all the true planets in the solar system, it doesn't clear the objects around it, all the tiny KBOs! Say that we discovered Eris before Pluto, if Mr. Tyson wanted to downgrade it because there are other planets like "Pluto", everybody would disagree because they've known Eris all their life, and don't want to give it up because of new discoveries.
