My thoughts on Flick NBA Basketball!

Freeverse has released Flick NBA Basketball just in time for the playoffs. Freeverse is also the developer of many other games including some more popular ones such as Flick Fishing, MotoChaser and Days of Thunder. The game is swish in a couple of aspects although overall it is a flat-out brick.
Before, I get in to the pros and cons, Ill take you through the interface. Flick NBAs Icon is designed well, and looks great on the home screen. Like most games the first thing you see is a loading screen, this is no different. Loading times can be a pain as loading screens are in almost every part of the game. It takes about 7-10 seconds for each loading screen which may get tedious. The first thing you see is a clean, simple menu, with buttons reading play, settings, and about.
Settings and About dont have much in it so with out further ado lets get into the real point of this game which is the play button. Under play you have 5 mini games, keep in mind that this game doesnt actually include real basketball it is simply a collection of mini games (EA has been given the rights to release a game involving actual 5 on 5 basketball). 3 Point Shoot Out is the first option which is modeled around all-star saturdays night popular event also know as a 3 Point Shoot Out. In this mode you can choose through over two-dozen of the best NBA players. The 3 Point Shoot Out is handled by a flick of the finger, meaning by simply flicking your finger you are able to release a shot. Gameplay isnt very realistic as I was able to match Shaqs score, who is a horrible 3 Point Shooter with Dirk Nowitzkis score, who is a great 3 Point shooter. Another annoyance I have with this game mode is that is quite hard to tell if a shot went in or out. In this mode like the NBAs official 3 Point contest the highest score possible is 30.

Next, we have Horse here it is also possible to choose your player. Lets talk about the control scheme in this one as It is different from the 3 Point Contest. In Horse their is a radar that moves back and forth. All you have do is slide your finger across the screen when the radar is in the green section, as you move farther from the hoop it gets harder to hit the shots. Hot shot which is the fourth game is controlled the same way.
Now, we have Hotshot which can be compared to Arcade Hoops Basketball. In the game you have 90 seconds to shoot hoops on a mini-basketball hoop similar to those you would see in a arcade. If you take your time it is near impossible to miss the closer shots, although as the hoop moves back it gets harder, this mode is actually the most-enjoyable out of all of them. My only complaint is not being able to tell if the ball actually goes in.

The final game mode is called Ball-Spin which makes use of the accelerometer in this game you are spinning a basket ball across your finger the object of the game is to make sure the ball doesnt fall of your finger. You can move the finger by titling left and right and you can spin the ball by tapping on it and swiping as if a photo.
Pros: 3 Point Shootout can be fun, and I have to say Hotshot is actually enjoyable
Cons: The above pros only apply to basketball fans, the graphics are only all right, the animations are horrible, and the 3 Point Shoot Out is unrealistic
Buy this game if you are a huge NBA fan and want to play as your favorite player.
Flick NBA Basketball, is the only Flick game with a high price tag of 4.99.
