The impossibility of recreating the past. Trials, tribulations and unreasonable goals. A story of conflict, improvisation, failure and unexpected results - the foundations of the world we now live in!

Image and sound test footage.

An illustrated text -When there is no living memory of an event what else can historical reconstruction be? Words with images to support them.

Excerpts from Robert Juet's 1609 journal of his time on the Dutch V.O.C ship the Halve Maan. Under Henry Hudson the ship traveled from Amsterdam to what is now known as Manhattan and the Hudson River in a bid to find a Northwest passage to Asia.

  • Great job! I love the wind! It is great how you worked the words and the wind together.

  • Erm.... I think you are getting Hudson mixed up with Columbus. How can you explain 2009 being the 500th year anniversary of the voyage if he set sail in 1492?

Would you like a slice of Ye Olde Humble Pie shipmate?
