http://www.steviesnacks.com - In this lesson I teach you a funky 12-bar blues rhythm. The rhythm uses a call and response beween the low notes and the high notes of the chords. A bit of sliding and some syncopation give it a funky sound.

  • Thanks for the great video. Is the strum motion on the chord (excluding the bass notes) slide, U,D,rake U, D (then go to bass note on next chord)? Also, when you slide into the B (I chord), your middle finger looks like its up at C, and your forefinger at E. is that correct? Many thanks.

  • @finn1124 It is Bass note, D/U rake, D/slide, U, D/U rake, D

  • May I ask why you hold the pick upside down?

  • @Life4Guitar Started doing it because SRV did it, but then got used to how smoothly the pick glides over the strings without getting hung up, and now can't go back.

  • i'll be honest. this camera angle makes me nauseous. Still love your videos though. Great info. And i'm constantly applying you're raking techniques and palm muting into my playing and practice to get better and to develop my sound.

  • @blakmagik4 Just pretend I'm lying on my back holding the guitar in the air. That should be better than imagining that you're floating upside down.

  • Any guitars or amps on your channel sound so open, transparent and crisp..

Could you post audio recording methods on this clip?

    - used gears( mics, mic pre, audio interface, DAW etc..),

    - EQ and reverb settings etc..(room, hall or plate.. and the percentage..),if you EQed or added reverb on mixing.

    Thanks!

  • Wait a minute.. do you normaly say "hello friends" or are you making fun of the way i said that in my "dirty pool jam" video you commented on? ಠ_ಠ
