Hi, interested what your Martin was like new?

Have heard from several people that action is a bit high and difficult to play.

No I don't find it difficult to play at all. Absolutely love it in fact. Great tone, and enough sustain that it's easy to do hammer ons and stuff (unlike with most acoustics).

Action is something that a luthier can usually adjust for you. Mine was indeed setup for me at the store.

I have the same guitar and love it...the action was nice from the factory, though I replaced the bridge pins with ebony as opposed to the plastic they ship with, and shaved a smidge off the bottom of the saddle...minor truss rod tweak...it's PERFECT.
