The Wire pulls no punches, it shows the worst of life and it really tries to hammer home the point that there is very rarely a happy ending.
BUT With Bubbles, they show that, there is goodness in this world, there are those who turn it around from the lowest of lows.
If they didn't have a character like bubbles, The Wire wouldn't be realistic.

Moving scene, man. One of the best scenes of the Wire. Bubbles was the most likable drug addict on a show ever. The actor was so robbed of Emmy consideration.

When I saw Bubbles turned out good, right at the end when his sister let him back in to the table, I cheered. Really made my day seeing that he had a good ending

Agreed. Incredible performances by Andre episode to episode. It's funny because they only had him scheduled for 7 episodes but he did so good they kept him in the show.
