I am sorry that I am responding to such an old post.
But what a load of bullshit.
George Orwell was an exterme marxist. He fought fascism and capitalism while he was in the Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista.

Here's the main difference between the two: With Capitalism, the top 10% own most of the wealth and the means of production, because they, or their father/grandfather developed the means of production and they accumulated the wealth created by it.
With Socialism, nobody has the incentive to develop anything; no wealth gets created, so there's nothing to redistribute, and so everyone is equal. Are they equally poor? No, because in order to be poor, there has to be somebody else who is rich.

@cpmondello We dont have a real constitution' Whats does the tern represent" the tern Constitution would imply an interpretation of any physical relativity' to matter or metaphysics' the American Constitution is made with laws to control which are subversive in regards to person property being controlled within licence and taxations' whats the concern? Liberty Justice restitution? Freedom? does anyone really feel free when all we are doing is economically based' study philosophy' and apply it

Capitalism is Unconstitutional. Capitalism's core ideology and only ideology is: Profits before people". Money is more important than a human life. The is not following what Democratic Socialism proposes, which is; "We the People".

@nebrasketball95 "If that were true european socialism would have been successful"
1) So, your system that turned the US into an utterly bankrupt failure where the distribution of wealth is more similar to Zimbabwe than Europe (how many struggling? half the middle class? how many rich? 1%?), that has the largest national deficit on the planet, is kept afloat by Chinese loans and European investments, buys its own treasury bonds, while NOT EVEN HAVING "SOCIALISM" (says it all) is .....OK?
LMAO

@nebrasketball95 "If that were true european socialism would have been successful"
1) LOOOOOL So, basically you mean that "socialist" EU, the world's first economy, among which many of the most competitive economies in the world (all "socialist"), with the best living standards, affordable health care, education etc, with more Fortune 500 companies than the US and China COMBINED, with more small business than the US, with 1% less unemployment EU wide etc. ect. etc etc etc. is NOT succesful?.

@pulsatingremedy actually Orwell would be most accurately categorized as a democratic socialist with anarchistic leanings. If you read his book 'Homage to Catalonia' he said that although he joined a Marxist militia his political views were more in line with the CNT/FAI.

"Societies that aim to place equality before freedom will achieve neither. However, societies that aim to place freedom before equality achieve a high measure of both." - Noble Laureate Milton Friedman

And this previous statement of mine is not just my conventional view, this is the record of history. Equality has been attempted many times in many different cultures/countries. The worst atrocities committed in human history were committed by collectivist societies.

"In socialism, everyone is well off." A statement that has never been further from the truth. Socialism, like any other form of collectivism, over time crushes incentives to create wealth. This destruction of one of mans greatest instincts slowly destroys the society as a whole, as less productivity means more hungry mouths. In many of these cases a despot is in charge of the government and does not want to lose power so he creates a military that will ensure his long rule, starving the people.
Are these kids serious or is this just really bad satire. Ughs, if those kids ever grow up they will be embarrassed as hell by this.

@CelticKraut... what do you mean, "if" those kids ever grow up? Are you trying to imply that, Peter-Pan-like, we're going to remain in a state of constant youth and naivete?
Also, what didn't you like about it? Maybe I can help.
