So many performers' lives end sadly. It so often starts with booze and drugs, but not always. There seems to be something else at work. I am not smart enough to know what it is.

And if he goes and takes him a notion, to jump and drown in the ocean, it's sink or it's swim, oh, it's me and it's him side by side.

Does anyone know what the last verse is? Is it "And when you don't have pain in a notion? You jump and drown in the ocean. Its sink or its swim, oh it's me and it's him. Side by side." Please help me with this last part if someone knows the lyrics. I'm trying to learn the Lee Morse version. No lyrics for it at all on the web.
