@depoorterdavid1977 Click on the White to Gray rectangle shape to select it. Go to the pull down menu: Window > Color or click on the little palette. Adjust the "A" % (alpha) at the bottom of the window. For gradients you have to adjust the "alpha" on each color tab of the gradient you do that clickin gon the little color chips on the horizontal gradient scale. Phew thats why videos are so easy.
@depoorterdavid1977 Hi! Well the background or "stage" always has to be some color. But you can draw shapes that can be filled with transparent colors or transparent objects(symbols) that sit above the stage, you adjust transparency with the color mixer I believe
