Why is everybody talking about Milly Dowler & her family as if they are untouchable religious icons? Don’t get me wrong, what happened to her at the hands of Bellfield (if it was him) was terrible, but a balanced view is required.
Her parents used the media for publicity freely enough when the search was on for her. Well, sorry, but it’s a double-edged sword. Journalists need to use whatever methods they can to find out what is in the public interest. You may not like it, but that’s journalism.

This is SICK ! How low can one get than this?! Disgusting bastards who would do anything to get a story. Rebekah Brooks and James Murdoch should be in prison along with the rest of them!

However not all hacking is wrong if in the genuine public interest. If a journalist had knowledge a detective was tipping off the Adams family (for example) about current investigations then that policeman would be a legitimate target.

Imagine loosing your love one and finding out that someone had hacked into your phone. The only reason for doing so was to make the hacker a lot of money. It makes one sick to think that Milly Dowler's phone was hacked simply to make money.
