@thecephalogod Orangutans are my favorite, but goats are catching up.

adoreable!!!! but i do think it is wrong to own complex creatures such as apes. we can never give them what they need and deserve.
i have always wanted a gibbon though. they are my favorite animal.

I think animals provide some archetypes and role models that we're supposed to have in our lives but most people don't

Then their father came along, killed it and ate it for dinner

@GHETOyeti Which would be fine, some people eat cows, some pigs, and some people eat gibbons. Nothing wrong with that.

I think this video is cute, but I kind of wish people could know and accept that wild animals should be left alone sometimes. Owning primates as pets is cruel torture for them. They aren't domesticated like cats or dogs, and lots of problems arise because they are so similar to us. Also removing an animal from it's habitat is not very nice, think about if someone removed you from your home. How would you feel?Primates are special creatures and are not like other animals that people adopt as pets

@Roonie41 I agree totally. This gibbon however seemed fine, it was never tied up, and in fact these people lived in it's home. It was on an island on the mekong river, quite a big island. The gibbon would run off into the junlge now and then but always came back. It had a big connection with that girl doing the work in the background and would sit with her a lot, i even saw it hanging on to her as she rode her bike. As I said it was never tied up and these people lived in its home

@Sinjid142 I wanted to take it home, i totally didn't see any problem with owning such an animal, i envisaged my life to be made 1000% better with the ownership of such an entertaining animal, alas though, he already had an owner, and i think she loved him, a local girl.
Oh, it's an ape, not a monkey! Apes are much smarter than monkeys, they have no tail and their social lives are much more complex. We are also in the ape family.
Anyway, your right that this beast is beautiful.
