"Dream" by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa from a commission by St Helens Council and ex-miners from the Sutton Manor Colliery, in St Helens, where the sculpture now stands. The pictures used in this short tribute were taken at and around the site early one sunny Sunday morning in June 2009.

  • 0:30 Sorry but it looks like a huge penis.

  • No apology required. Art is open to personal interpretation but don't leave it there! Perhaps you see some relevance in this penis-comparison.

  • who did the music for this? as it sounds like a bee playing throbbing gristle in a jar.

  • The beautiful and haunting atonal sound-scape composition is entitled "Throbbing Gristle" by that talented techno-ensemble of the Jar Music genre called "Like-a-Bee". They'll go far!

  • Thanks! St Helens is very lucky to have this beautiful work.
