Not exactly. Polls showed in 2000 he would have lost to Bush or at best it would have been a very very close election -- just like with Gore and Bush. People regularly overstate Clinton's ability to convince the plebs. He was NOT popular in middle America after impeachment. I mean the man not his job performance which was all about the economy anyway something that no president can really control but they get the blame or the credit from the gullible part of the population
