  • Hi Allen, Thanks for your reply. I would love to visit your lovely part of the world again and hope I will. If I do I will certainly contact you before hand and arrange to meet you. I once watched the film the last of the Mohicans and at the end the entire audience just sat there. My wife asked me why and I said it was because they were waiting to find out where it was filmed. The Smokies of course. Since then and then when I saw it up close I fell in love with the area. MUST go back. Regards T

  • Money talks. My husband and I have between 12-15 carvings by Gene Webb. And we've ordered 3 more items. Since he's moved out on his own, it is a much greater pleasure doing business with the gentleman. I'd say that Allen and Gene have no worries... keep up the good work!!! You are a class act... but at least you have class!!!

  • @bevAnnie Thanks for your support,I think we have both showed that we really care about carvers and our work,as well as our dealing with customers.

  • Hi again Allen, I visited Gene's web site and purchased one of the many great books he has on it. I have just viewed his postings on carving Eyes, Nose, Mouth, Ear and Hair and will go away and practice. I have taken note of your advice on buying a knife. At the moment I have an X Acto set I must have bought a few years ago and am only just using since I am only just starting. My tutor ( I have just joined a class last week ) sharpened it and it is OK. Will buy some Lime Wood this weekend. Tom

  • Hi from Scotland. I visited Pigeon Forge and Gattlenburgh a few years ago and visited several cabin shops like Gene's and was blown away by what I saw.

I fell in love with the Smokey Mountains and promised myself I would visit again in both the Fall and Winter. I would love to carve an owl on one of my walking sticks I make. Do you have a book with Owl patterns. Best regards, Tom.
