Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, founder and president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), has been named Russia's Man of the Year for 2010 (from Jewish Communities in Russia and CIS), in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and assistance in helping tens of thousands of Jews in the former Soviet Union.
This award was bestowed upon Rabbi Eckstein during an impressive ceremony at the Kremlin in Moscow (Hanukka celebrations).
Presenting the award was Lev Leviev, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Russia and CIS.
