Personnel assigned to the Neighborhood Policing and Criminal Investigation Bureaus have embarked upon a collaborative directed patrol mission to prevent and reduce violent crime in several Milwaukee neighborhoods in Districts 3, 5 and 7 that have experienced an increase in shootings and other firearms-related incidents. In the past 3 weeks, we have seen a marked decrease of 40% in non-fatal shootings. The tactic is working.
